Jose Angel Cordova Villalobos, Mexican Secretary of Health, has endorsed complementary treatments including homeopathy, herbal medicine, and acupuncture. Accordingly, the Health Secretariat will work with the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN) to increase availability of these therapies. The IPN’s Homeopathic Hospital is to be rebuilt with an investment of over 250 million pesos ($24.25 million US). “Cordova Villalobos noted that complementary medicines have a significant role in helping the country deal with the growing problem of chronic diseases.”
