Breathe!

Even the best of us wake up with a feeling that we want to go back to bed and never get up. Hopefully, this happens not too often, because if we continue feeling like this, normal functions of life, work, and day to day activities can be affected. These changing moods can not only impact life as we know it, but also affect our relationships, and getting a handle on this is extremely important. While some of these feelings may be because of what is happening around us, some of it could be caused due to irregulated hormones.

All we need to do is pay attention to the balance of hormones, and we can do so naturally to achieve good mood so that we can go about a life well.

Serotonin, endorphins and progesterone are mainly responsible for the fluctuations in our mood. There are ways of boosting these hormones naturally. Here are a few ideas:

Breathe!
How we breathe can influence our hormone function. When we breathe diaphragmatically, which is long and slow breaths, which makes our belly move in and out, our body knows that we have to stay calm, and it helps balance digestion and our stress hormone as well.

Digestion
Proper digestion means good health. If our food is digested properly, the nutrients from the food are absorbed well, so that our hormones stay regulated. Our digestion can be improved by chewing our food well, eating real foods, whole foods, limiting our intake of processed food, so on and so forth.

Liver Function
The liver is responsible for eliminating problematic substances from the body, which includes old hormones which the body may not need. Liver loaders like refined sugars, alcohol, caffeine and other synthetic substances should be avoided.

Move!
Exercise and this will help elevate your mood. However, this does mean that you have to run to the gym and spend long hours there. Just a walk around the block or doing usual chores around the house can help.
