You may not realize it, but the food that you eat every day may not be suitable for you. There are a host of healthier alternatives out there to everyday foods that are slowly but surely poisoning your system. So, be careful and read carefully to learn how you can use these alternatives to lead a healthy and better life.
Sugar
Sugar packs only calories and comes with no nutrients. In the earlier days, when sugar was directly extracted from sugarcane, a lot of the nutrients, vitamins and minerals were intact. However, now commercial sugar is processed and loses all its nutrients in the process.
A great alternative to sugar would be jaggery. It is an unrefined form of sugar that was used in ancient times and is still used in many parts of the world today.
Honey makes a great and natural substitute for processed sugar as well. It does much good for many health problems and serves different purposes, depending on how it is consumed.
Milk
Milk is known to be indigestible by a large number of adults. Only children below the age of three years have the enzymes that are needed to digest milk completely. Milk that is indigestible forms mucous and leads to lethargy. Milk may be a good source of calcium, but listen up, there are other sources of calcium as well, which you can consume daily.
A good alternative would be Whole Grains, Nuts and lentils work fine. Peanuts are great, too and are known to be a complete diet in themselves. Horsegram is one of the richest vegetarian sources in the world for calcium and iron.
