Spread It Around
Make nut butter. It’s easy, and it can last you a long time. Once made, you can use it as part of smoothies, use it as salad dressing and even use it as a spread for a power-packed breakfast.
All you have to do is process dehydrated or soaked nuts in a high-speed processor until you have a creamy and smooth paste. You could add in a touch of oil to get the consistency you crave, and it helps make subtle the overpowering flavour of the nuts too. Store it in an airtight container and you are set for a healthy life.
Add Some Crunch
You could use nuts to add that extra crunch to everyday meals as well. Add a few to your salad. They will increase the fibre as well as protein content to make your meal more textural as well as delicious. You could go ahead and use nuts like pecans, pine nuts and walnuts, all of which make a perfect match alongside leafy greens.
Pamper Your Sweet Tooth
Make some yummy granola bars at home and eat them in between meals to curb those unwanted cravings. You could blend nuts such as figs, dates, cranberries along with some raw nuts for what are known as bliss balls or create granola bars with nuts, fresh dates and oats.
Cheese
Make nut cheese, and it’s exciting, refreshing, and so easy to make. Many people are going ga-ga over cashew nut cheese today. Pre-soak some raw cashews and once they are soft, add some nutritional yeast flakes, lemon juice and other seasonings as per your taste, like pepper, sea salt, garlic or mixed herbs. You can have them with crackers, use it as a cheesy dip and also have it with vegetables.
